The First Kitchen Opens
Starbird chicken opens its first location in Foster City, CA. With a menu of just six items and a team of eight, the response from the community was immediate and overwhelming.
Menu Expansion & First Award
We expanded the menu to include our now-iconic tenders, wings, and signature sauces. Bay Area food critics recognized starbird as one of the top new quick-service concepts of the year.
Second Location & Catering Launch
Demand drove expansion to a second Bay Area location, and we launched our catering service to bring the starbird chicken experience to corporate events and private celebrations.
Online Ordering & Delivery
We launched our digital ordering platform and expanded delivery radius, making it easier than ever for guests to enjoy starbird chicken at home — especially during a year when it mattered most.
Sustainability Initiative
Starbird became the first chicken-focused QSR in our market to achieve 100% compostable packaging. We also partnered with local farms to source pasture-raised chicken for our core menu.
